Ribbon Cutting at 11:00a.m.

Buddy’s will donate all opening day sales to Chesterfield Township Library
Buddy’s Pizza, creator of the Original Detroit-Style Pizza, will open its new Chesterfield carryout restaurant, at 50670 Gratiot Ave. in Chesterfield, Mich., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 11. For the new location, Buddy’s is partnering with the Chesterfield Township Library and will donate all opening-day sales to the nonprofit. The Chesterfield restaurant marks the company’s 22nd location and 18th location in southeast Michigan.
The in-store design features a layout specifically engineered for the customer carryout experience, including a grab-and-go system for online orders and a redesigned kitchen optimized for carryout. It also includes classic features that make a visit to Buddy’s Pizza special, including decor elements that incorporate the Chesterfield community.
“For 76 years, families and friends have gathered together to enjoy our original Detroit-Style pizza, and we’re excited to now bring this tradition to the Chesterfield community,” said Buddy’s Chief Brand Officer Wes Pikula. “By partnering with the Chesterfield Township Library, we hope to fully engrain ourselves into the community and give back to the community members who dine with us.”
The Chesterfield restaurant offers a special carryout only menu, with fan favorites including the authentic Original Detroit-Style Pizza, celebrated antipasto salad, Buddy Bread, pasta, meatballs and more. The restaurant will be open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day of the week.
“We are grateful to Buddy’s Pizza for their partnership and for recognizing the value of public library service to all our neighbors,” said Director of the Chesterfield Township Library Elizabeth Madson. “It’s our pleasure to celebrate with Buddy’s Pizza as they open their new restaurant in Chesterfield, and we wish them all success.”
Literacy and developing young readers have always been important to Buddy’s. Every year during Reading Month in March, Buddy’s implements the Buddy’s Bookmark Reading Program, where students can redeem a free kid’s meal for reading three books.
The Chesterfield Township Library provides life-long education to the Macomb County community through events, resources and programs. It offers individuals of all ages equal access and equal opportunity for success.
